There's a new flash demo explaining how you can view ADMINS report output (EXCEL output, for example) automatically when you run the report on OpenVMS.
Wasn't aware that one could so easily pop out a VMS report into windows. Very nice trick indeed.
In Ventura, 4 commented out lines are added to most reports so that in addition to the normal .lis output, .csv, .htm or .xml version of the same report can be generated. When running a csv, htm, or xml version, either interactively or in a command procedure, the person would get an email with a hyper link to the report. The VMS directory that houses the report output is an AdvancedServer share, which is made into a Virtural Directory on a IIS to affirm a URL connection (As I quickly learned FireFox, Chrome, and Safari are not exactly UNC-friendly or Windows-respectful). This directory also contains the normal website \\images and style sheets (css and xml) for presentation.
I am curious how an xml is handled via this direct pop-up method. Specifically where the default xml stylesheet is located.
Great work. Very inspirational!

ps. Google Wave was just released earlier this week (invitational preview only). Anyone as stoked as I am? The ultimate collaboration and communication platform as far as I'm concerned. Very sweet. Super nice. Long live Google!
